The Ikettes

PP joined the Ikettes in September 1964, when the current threesome quit together. Their current single was 'I'm So Thankful' on Modern Records which was still chart-climbing and was promoted by Pat singing the lead part on live shows, giving way to later rumours that it was she who sang on the record.

Two more Modern singles by the Ikettes, and at least one by Ike and Tina Turner on Modern, were released after september 1965, but in all likelihood they were recorded previously. Pat's first recordings were during the 'Phil Spector' sessions, which began with 'River Deep Mountain High' in March 1966. Ike Turner produced the only Ikettes single that Pat sings on.

PHI-DAN 5009 (UK No. London HLU 10081) What'cha Gonna Do / Down Down
On this Pat sings lead, while the back-up is by the Holloway Sisters, Brenda & Patrice, with further  backing by Tina. This is an awsome line-up of female vocal talent.

With Tina TurnerFour singles were released by Ike and Tina on Philles.

PHILLES 131 River Deep Mountain High / I'll Keep You Happy
PHILLES 134 A Man Is A Man Is A Man / Two To Tango
PHILLES 135 I'll Never Need More Than This / The Cashbox Blues
PHILLES 136 A Love Like Yours / Hold On Baby

Pat sessioned on all these tracks, plus the one album that was released on Philles, which was half produced by Phil and half by Ike.

With this album the Ike Turner-produced tracks were mostly reconstructions of previous tracks he had done with other line-ups. The ones with PP Arnold on are the PHILLES cuts. In November 1965 the Ike and Tina Revue were filmed for THE BIG TNT SHOW, produced by Spector. Pat is one of the Ikettes on that show. From time to time a video of the special is made available. It is sometimes known erronously as the TAMI Show, but that is different from 1964, sans Ike and Tina.
